Backyard football 2002 scummvm6/4/2023 ![]() ![]() It was an american football game that attempted to recreate the experience of playing football as children. Backyard Footballīackyard Football was the first game in the popular Backyard Football series. Perhaps we should do a list of Humongous games made after the layoff, without articles, but the ones already made redirecting back to this page. Not to be confused with Backyard Soccer, released in Europe under the name Backyard Football. Torus Games produced - Backyard Football (GBA port), Backyard Football 2006 (GBA port) and Backyard Football 2007 (GBA port) SolWorks produced - Backyard Basketball (PS2 port) Runecraft produced - Backyard Soccer (PS1 port) and Pajama Sam 3 (PS1 port) For future reference, a rough list.īackyard Baseball (GBA port), Backyard Baseball 2006 (GBA port), Backyard Baseball 2007 (GCN, PS2 and PC),īackyard Basketball 2007 (PS2 port) and Backyard Football 2008 (PS2 port in progress)īackyard Basketball 2007 (GBA port) and Backyard Hockey (GBA port) Many of the Backyard sports titles were produced by outside developers, which should be worth mentioning. But, I still think we should have the new ones just to keep the continuity of the Backyard Sports. Clone2727 02:05, 26 January 2007 (UTC) Yes, you're right that they should be moved. However, we might be able to keep them, for continuity, by adding a second page or a separate page. Kirben 03:48, 26 January 2007 (UTC) I'm not sure if they use the same engine. Adding all titles under 'Humongous Entertainment' doesn't make sense, considering the new division is actually called 'Humongous Inc.' and not 'Humongous Entertainment' any more. I expect custom engines are used for recent Backyard sports titles, considering they moved to 3D graphics and are mainly console ports now. The SCUMM and YAGA game engines are no longer used at all, the YAGA engine was only used for five games. In the case of Disney, credit would always go to the exact animation studio used for a project. MetaFox 01:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC) Disney isn't a good example, considering they had several 2D animation studios worldwide (Australia and Japan), before they were all shutdown. ![]() The games have a right to stay linked under Humongous Entertainment - in my opinion at least. In my opinion, if they use the same engines, use the same brand name, and use the same game series names, it's the same company. The new Disney 2D Animation studios occupy a different building, use different animators, and has a different division name, but it's still Disney Animation studios. The original Disney animation studios were shut down, and the majority of the staff was fired. For example, the same could be said of the original Disney Animation studios and the new Disney Animation studios under the control of Pixar. Kirben 03:47, 24 January 2007 (UTC) I don't see them as seperate personally. So clearly Humongous Entertainment and Humongous Inc. ![]() division was created in 2006, in order to continue the Backyard sports brand of games. The Humongous Entertainment division was closed in 2005. MetaFox 23:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC) Humongous Entertainment was bought by Infogrames (Atari now) and became a division of Infogrames. It may not be the same people at Humongous, nor the same building or the original owners - but Infogrames has owned Humongous long enough to consider it the same company IMHO. Kirben They are related to Humongous Entertainment in the fact that Atari owns the Humongous brand and had decided to continue with the name and the series. should be listed on a separate page, if they must be listed at all. So recent Backyard sports titles (ie 2007 series) from Humongous Inc. is a new division of Atari and not related to Humongous Entertainment, which was shut down. If anyone has any suggestions or comments about this change, feel free to let me know as I want to make this chart as helpful as possible without being too confusing. I also changed the bottom two companies to let people know whether they were published by Infogrames/Atari or Tommo. I also added a section for the Humongous Entertainment IP Tommo published under the Humongous Entertainment name (I'm not going to add the games published under the Humongous Publishing label since they aren't 2D adventures so they don't fit in the scope of ScummVM, and the IPs used don't have any connection to the old Humongous Entertainment company anyway). ![]() This way, not only can we add developers, we can also add notes like that, so the new entry in the tables should be useful. I put in the developers pointed out by Kirben, and moved the "137 Bink Videos" for Backyard Football 2002 to notes. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I just expanded the page with a notes section for each table. ![]()
